The home is 35 minutes from the Keahole-Kona airport with direct flights to Kona from San Francisco and Los Angeles or with many other flights per day via Honolulu Airport. Kohala Coast vacation home 'Up country' retreat w/4 private units ranging $95- $250 This recently renovated and stunning historic home is at a perfect location. Located in the “sunny side” of Waimea with about 1.5 miles to Waimea (Kamuela) town, about a 7 mile (10 min. drive) to the finest Kohala Coast beaches and situated at the foot of the Kohala mountain range in a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood. Several combinations are possible with this privately divided home. The full house can sleep about 18 people. Broken up into five private suites Wai’aka provides the opportunity to hold an intimate gathering or find sanctuary in a private retreat. Each unit has a private entrance, bath and kitchen (ranging from a kitchenette to full gourmet.) Each suite has a lovely private deck looking out into their surrounding namesake gardens. The "Old Hawaii" feel of Wai’aka Homestead makes this Waimea home the ideal place for a Big Island family reunion, Kohala Coast wedding, healing retreat, or personal getaway.

Ylang Ylang House
Has 2 Bedrooms, a full sized family kitchen, a private bathroom with both tub and a separate shower. This main portion of the house has a large deck with a pot-belly stove situated beneath a towering Silver Oak and Kukui Nut tree. ($1,700 per week / Sleeps 8, 1 queen, 2 twins, 1 full, plus two twin day beds). 5 night minimum.
Rate: $250/nt.

Ohia and Lehua Suite
The Ohia and Lehua Suites are the heart and soul of this homestead. The two rooms share a charming lanai (or porch), underneath one of the islands only Ylang Ylang trees which blooms almost year round. These two rooms works best when rented together (however, not pertinent) and can comfortably accommodate four people with one king size bed and one queen size Murphy bed. These two rooms share a bathroom and a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and small dining area.
Rate: $125/nt.

Hibiscus Garden – The newest addition to Wai’aka homestead this recently renovated suite offers a private space in the back of the home. This beautifully done apartment offers a full kitchen and a gorgeous bath with a large tiled shower. The bedroom includes a queen size bed and two small day beds.
Rate: $140/nt.

Brazilian Pepper Suite - This spacious and partitioned studio suite offers a queen size bed and a single futon bed making it ideal for a small family. There is a sitting area, a dining room and a full kitchen. There is also a small outdoor deck and private garden. This apartment is ideal for longer stays.
Rate: $500 - 700/wk.
