More Kohala Coast Restaurants
When you are getting tired of the
fine cuisine at your Kohala Coast hotel or resort, there are great
options in Waimea town or Kawaihae harbor/marina which offer an
outstanding array of food to satisfy your pallet and your wallet.
Kawaihae Restaurants
Coming into Kawaihae the first of
the restaurants is Blue Dolphin Restaurant with
live-music Fridays and Saturdays. Next one in the row is the new
Seafood Bar with
innovative light dining, exotic and tropical drinks and atmosphere.
Next to it, you find Kawaihae Harbor Grill. It
has been serving the Big Island since 1995. The menu has something
for everyone. When you follow the road straight to the end, there
is Cafe
Pesto (another one is in Hilo's King Kamehameha Ave)
with great pizzas, pastas and fresh island fish and seafood dishes.
In the same building but upstairs, Tres Sombres
offers Mexican food but also steak and seafood. Kawaihae Market
& Deli and gas station offer sandwiches and sodas. Tip from
us: right across from the building, on the other side of Hwy 270,
you can buy fresh fish daily at the local Fish
market.
North Kohala Hawi Restaurants
Try Bamboo
Restaurant with fresh island style cuisine, located in historic
Hawi town, North Kohala, Big Island, just a 30-minute drive from
our Big Island vacation rentals. In addition to some extraordinary
island food, special old Hawaiian style ambience, you can enjoy
live Hawaiian slack-key guitar music of John
Keawe. Hawi is John's home town and Bamboo Restaurant is his
home place. John plays twice a month. Call Bamboo Restaurant for
his schedule 889-5555 or go
to his calendar on his website to find out about other Kohala
Coast places where John regularly performs. Food at the Bamboo Restaurant
is most delicious like at any fine dining place at the Kohala Coast
plus one can choose between a petite portion or the regular entre
size.
Waimea Restaurants Kamuela
Coming into town on your left hand
side is Opelo Plaza with Merriman’s,
which is probably the most well known of our fine dining restaurants
and perhaps the finest Pacific Rim Cuisine on the island, open lunch
and dinner. Continuing to Waimea town, visitors find on the right
side 'Edelweiss', a popular German restaurant serving lunch and
dinner…Bratwurst w/ Sauerkraut or Schnitzel and a great German
Beer! Over the years, Edelweiss has extended their menu with fresh
island fish dishes. On the same side a half block east is Parker
Square, where you can have breakfast, lunch and coffee from around
the world at Waimea
Coffee Company serving and selling 100% Kona coffee. Just a
little further east, we come to Daniel
Thiebaut’s serving fine French cuisine, freszh fish and
steak. The Paniola Country Inn, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner,
with a good variety.
Casual food is available at KTA shopping Center:
McDonald's, Charlie's Thai Kitchen, Korean Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant,
Subway and Morelli's Pizza.
We hope you find our information on Kohala
